Win 1.2 Million Naira in the Financial Literacy Challenge by VISA and CcHub

The Financial Literacy Challenge will bring key finance actors (CBN, banks, credit bureaus, personal finance experts, NGOs, micro-finance institutions etc) together with software developers and designers to create interesting apps and games that help inform Nigerians on how to manage their money and educate on the tools available to meet their money needs.

 
The apps and games will target:
- Children, youth and undergraduates
- Educated Nigerians outside the school system
- The uneducated/illiterate population

and will be accessible through mobile devices (basic phones, smart phones and tablets) as well as on popular social media platforms.

 
Schedule
- 22nd June 2013: Stakeholder Session
The challenge will start with a stakeholder session where all those interested in participating will get information on the issues around financial inclusion and delivering effective financial education in Nigeria. * Registration Required

 
27th June – 4th July 2013: Ideation Session
After the stakeholder session we will run a number of ideation sessions where mixed teams of finance stakeholders and techies will brainstorm possible tools to build at the 2 day event. * Registration Required

 
From 4th July 2013: Comment & Vote
After the ideation, the proposed ideas will be displayed on this site for the public to comment on them and to vote which ones they will like to see developed.

 
Prizes
The judges will assess the prototypes based on:
- The relevance of the solution
- Accessibility for the target audience
- Quality of the prototype developed
- Potential reach of the solutions developed

 
The top 3 teams will be awarded cash prizes of:

- First Prize: N1,200,000
- Second Prize: N960,000
- Third Prize: N800,000

The teams will have 1 month to finalise the solution in time for launch.
