Mobile Internet Settings for HTC Desire (Codenamed Bravo)
If you use HTC desire. I’ll advise you to setup internet on it. You can’t enjoy the Android phone without internet. With the mobile internet, you can access your Facebook, Twitter and so many apps available on Google Play (formerly called Android Market). You will be able to access social networks and news site on the go.
So how do you setup your HTC Desire for mobile internet browsing?
You will need the settings for whichever mobile network you are using. Below, I’ll list the settings for the mobile networks I have used on my HTC Desire.
GLOBACOM
1. Glo Mobile Internet (Internet access on subscription basis (Pay per data bundle)
Press the “Menu” button.
Press “Settings” and select “Wireless & networks”.
Scroll to and select “Mobile networks” and select “Access Point Names”.
Press the “Menu” button and select “New APN”.
Select “Name” and enter Glo Mobile Internet.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “APN” and enter gloflat.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “Port” and enter 8080.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “Username” and enter flat.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “Password” and enter flat.
Press “OK”.
Press the “Menu” button and press “Save”.
Make sure the new profile is selected.
Press the “Home” button to return to the main screen.
Your phone has been configured.
2. Glo MMS
Press the “Menu” button.
Press “Settings” and select “Wireless & networks”.
Scroll to and select “Mobile networks” and select “Access Point Names”.
Press the “Menu” button and select “New APN”.
Select “Name” and enter Glo MMS.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “APN” and enter glomms.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “MMSC” and enter https://mms.gloworld.com/mmsc.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “MMS proxy”. and enter 10.100.114.144.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “MMS port” and enter 3130.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “Username” and enter mms.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “Password” and enter mms.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “APN type” and enter “mms”.
Press the “Menu” button and press “Save”.
Make sure the new profile is selected.
Press the “Home” button to return to the main screen.
Your phone has been configured.
3. Glo Direct (Internet access on Pay As You Use basis (Pay per kilobyte)
ress the “Menu” button.
Press “Settings” and select “Wireless & networks”.
Scroll to and select “Mobile networks” and select “Access Point Names”.
Press the “Menu” button and select “New APN”.
Select “Name” and enter Glo Direct.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “APN” and enter glosecure.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “Port” and enter 8080.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “Username” and enter gprs.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “Password” and enter gprs.
Press “OK”.
Press the “Menu” button and press “Save”.
Make sure the new profile is selected.
Press the “Home” button to return to the main screen.
Your phone has been configured.
4. Glo WAP
Press the “Menu” button.
Press “Settings” and select “Wireless & networks”.
Scroll to and select “Mobile networks” and select “Access Point Names”.
Press the “Menu” button and select “New APN”.
Select “Name” and enter Glo WAP.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “APN” and enter glogwap.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “Proxy” and enter 10.100.114.144.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “Port” and enter 3130.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “Username” and enter wap.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “Password” and enter wap.
Press “OK”.
Scroll to and select “APN type” and enter “default”.
Press “OK”.
Press the “Menu” button and press “Save”.
Make sure the new profile is selected.
Press the “Home” button to return to the main screen.
Your phone has been configured.
