Interview with Bababjide Ogunsanya of OgbongeBlog.com
I bring to you a friend of mine who is making things happen in Nigeria and on the Internet. He is Babajide Ogunsanya of OgbongeBlog.com. Read further as you get to know more about him.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Jide Ogunsanya, though my close pals do call me Ogbonge. I am a resourceful person leveraging on Internet tools in teaching people diverse things that relate to technology and money making. I own www.ogbongeblog.com
When did you start making money online and how did you make your first money online?
I started making money online officially in 2008. My first money was made through my bulksms website, customizesms (now ogbongesms.com). I set up the website because I so much believe in the fact that for you to make real money online, you must have a product to sell or service to render in return for real cash. After few weeks of setting up the website, I started receiving orders from people around the country and it signaled to me that making money online is REAL!
When starting your website, did you ever expect it to grow to where it is today?
YES… I am even very optimistic that it will grow better in the long run because OgbongeBlog keeps making waves day in day out.
You’ve been in the internet space for a long time, how much of an impact have you made on the internet?
Well, the impact can’t easily be measured but the result is there to see. The number of Ogbongeblog subscribers is enough to show the whole world that OgbongeBlog is loaded.
Through Ogbongeblog, I have been able to teach and still teaching people how to do different things including blogging, making money online etc
How have you incorporated social media into your membership website?
Yes. I have configured my blog in such a way that whenever I publish a new post, the post automatically gets published to Facebook, Twitter and FriendFeed. The traffic I keep getting from those social media platforms is highly innegligible.
In your opinion, what is the single best way to monetize a blog/website/membership site/forum etc?
Well, the highest percentage of money I have make so far at www.ogbongeblog.com has been through the info products I sell on the blog. The most interesting part of it is that the best selling info product I sell on www.ogbongeblog.com does not even have a special sales page as at the time of this interview. I only blogged about it and trust me, I do receive payments for it day in day out.
Hence, as far as I am concerned and also been a Nigerian, the best way to monetize a blog is to use it in selling info products while monetizing via Adsense by the sideways.
My advice is you have to be sure of what you are talking about. That is why I advice people to start in an area they seem to be passionate about, if not, frustration will settle in.
What would you recommend for a new blogger, that wants to create their own brand on the internet?
Whenever I advise a new blogger, I always tell him/her to start with what he/she has passion for and NOT be hunting for that MAGIC system that will make him/her rich overnight while sleeping. To be frank, such systems DO NO EXIST.
Any recommended resources for people looking to bring their internet/social media/information marketing/web development to the next level?
If you really want to bring your online brand to the next leel, you must know how to get ANYTHING from Google. If you really know the SECRET WAYS of searching Google for anything, then you will be good to go.
Do you have any big announcements or upcoming projects you’d like to tell us about?
Well, I am currently working on my membership website where with the Grace of God, I will be able to easily raise other people up and be following them up till they achieve what they want to achieve online.
Just Stay tuned to www.ogbongeblog.com
Now over to you readers, what do you have to ask? Also, I’m so sure that you have learned from this interview.
To your online success
