LinkedIn Opens Up LinkedIn Influencers Publishing Platform

Based on the update from Business Insider, LinkedIn is opening up its publishing platform known as “LinkedIn Influencers” to all users. Previously, the number of people who could publish to the LinkedIn Influencers platform was limited to roughly 500 thought leaders who shared their expertise.

LinkedIn used to feature quite a bit of external content from publishers, but now it seems to be featuring internal content front-and-center by way of its Influencers platform. The number of pages viewed by LinkedIn users started declining last fall (when LinkedIn changed its content strategy by launching Influencers), and so the company is likely trying to circulate more content through the social network to improve its engagement metrics.

linkedin influencersLinkedIn is opening up the publishing platform to LinkedIn members, giving them a powerful new way to build their professional brand. When a member publishes a post on LinkedIn, their original content becomes part of their professional profile, is shared with their trusted network and has the ability to reach the largest group of professionals ever assembled. Now members have the ability to follow other members that are not in their network and build their own group of followers. Members can continue to share their expertise by posting photos, images, videos and their original presentations on SlideShare.

The benefit of using LinkedIn influencers is that it will help you reach more people via LinkedIn. With this, you increase the number of people in your network and the number of people who see what you do.
